Common Uses for Business Cards
Business cards provide a convenient and professional way to share contact information and promote your business or services. They are commonly used by small businesses, contractors, sales professionals, real estate agents, restaurants, retail businesses, service providers, consultants, tradespeople, nonprofits and organizations.
Business cards can include your company logo, business name, contact information, website, social media information, services, promotional offers and other important details. Printing on both sides provides additional space for information while maintaining the compact standard business card format.
About Business Card Printing
Our business cards are professionally printed using high-speed digital printing equipment for sharp text, clean graphics and detailed images. Choose from #100 uncoated cover for a traditional, writable business card or 14 pt. C2S coated cover for a smooth, professional coated finish. Business cards are available with black or full-color printing and can be printed on one or both sides.
We recommend supplying artwork at 300 dpi for raster images and maintaining vector artwork as vector whenever possible. Files should be submitted as PDF with fonts embedded and should use CMYK color when possible to help reduce unwanted color shifts during printing. All customer-supplied artwork is pre-flighted for common technical issues before production, and FREE PDF proofs are provided by email for approval.

Business Card File Preparation & Bleed Requirements
Business cards have a finished size of 3.5" x 2" for landscape designs or 2" x 3.5" for portrait designs. Keep important text, logos and other essential information at least 1/8" (0.125") inside the finished edge to prevent it from being too close to the cut line.
If your design includes a background color, photograph or other artwork that extends all the way to the edge of the finished business card, you must include a minimum 1/8" (0.125") bleed beyond the finished card size. Bleed provides extra image area that is trimmed away during finishing and helps prevent an unwanted white border along the edges of the finished card.
For a business card with bleed on all four sides, the artwork area would be 3.75" x 2.25" when the bleed is included in the document dimensions. Some professional design programs, such as Adobe InDesign, allow you to specify the bleed separately in the document setup while maintaining the 3.5" x 2" finished page size. Other programs may require you to create the additional bleed area within the document dimensions.
Crop marks indicating the finished card size should be included when using bleed if your design software supports them. Bleed marks are not required and should not be included.

Creating Your Business Card PDF
Business card artwork should be submitted as a PDF exported from your graphic design or desktop publishing software. When creating your PDF, embed all fonts to prevent missing-font problems and use CMYK color space when possible to help reduce unwanted color shifts during printing.
For best results, export your file using a High Quality Print, Press Quality or similar commercial-print PDF setting. We recommend submitting raster artwork at 300 dpi and maintaining vector artwork as vector whenever possible.
